Not sure its worth getting in such a fuss over, not suprising that people do stuff like this really. But its not "consumerist xianity". Focusing on it is just a distraction. The real enemy is something else entirely. posted by: HallucinogenicToreador (reply) post date: 02.22.06 (10:48 pm) LOL! That's why people outside of xianity don't take us seriously cause we use propaganda to lure them in and we now use JESUS as an element of ballyhoo! Nice...Grace is but a credit card payment away; YES!!!!!!! posted by: surrogate (reply) post date: 02.23.06 (12:38 am) jeez grace, ever been to a religeous goods store? Especially a Catholic one? They've got tons of stuff (some of which has been "blessed") that makes this look like what it is, a really weird doll. In the middle of Michigan there's what's purported to be "the world's largest crucifix." The gift shop there is really amazing. I was there with my ex the year before my divorce. The "blow-out sale" on rosaries was especially tasteful, I thought. "Over 1000 varieties" were up to 50% off! The nature walk/Stations of the cross attraction featured coin operated candles at each stop along the way. A quarter got you two minutes of "candle" (flashlight bulb atop white cylindrical base.) On the other hand, I treasure my "Buddy Jesus", my posable gumby-style Jesus and the ashtray (which I don't use, but that I really like) a reader sent me showing Jesus sitting and working at a computer wearing a t-shirt that reads "My Dad created the World and all I got was this lousy T-shirt." I know... I know... posted by: PastorDave (reply) post date: 02.23.06 (1:44 am) Jesus doll? What will they throw up to us next? And I do mean "throw up". posted by: Fairmoon (reply) post date: 02.23.06 (5:42 am) i find that extremely distrurbing. But it doesn't surprise me, Christianity is being blashpemed against or attacked daily both directly and indirectly. The world does not know or love God. posted by: thoolou (reply) post date: 02.24.06 (10:17 am) "I don't care if it rains or freezes, long as I got my plastic Jesus, sittin' on the dashboard of my car..." /Cool Hand Luke posted by: onebadjen (reply) post date: 02.24.06 (10:22 am) ugh posted by: guerillafunk (reply) post date: 02.24.06 (10:29 am) I think they meant well, really. It's your comments that made it so cynical and funny. I think it was a good idea gone awry. Some adjustments need to be made. If they could figure it out... Jesus DID love the little children. posted by: graceshaker (reply) post date: 02.26.06 (5:42 pm) Reply to: mr anonymous i agree this isnt the ultimate enemy - its merely a symptom of a much larger problem but since these guys are marketting a jesus doll its a safe bet the target consumers are xians and that was my point to begin with. look at the symptoms to discover the problem. posted by: graceshaker (reply) post date: 02.26.06 (5:43 pm) Reply to: HallucinogenicToreador actually grace is three easy installments of just $19.95 but wait! if you call now.... posted by: graceshaker (reply) post date: 02.26.06 (5:46 pm) Reply to: surrogate didnt the reformation ignite over two guys fighting for the last saint francis figurine at a holy land pilgrimage trinket shop? posted by: graceshaker (reply) post date: 02.26.06 (5:47 pm) Reply to: PastorDave its a lot like spiritual boulemia isnt it? posted by: graceshaker (reply) post date: 02.26.06 (5:50 pm) Reply to: Fairmoon yah - give me five smooth stones tho and ill drop this big ugly giant flat. posted by: graceshaker (reply) post date: 02.26.06 (5:51 pm) Reply to: genevievelocke so you enjoyed it? cool. drop in again anytime. posted by: graceshaker (reply) post date: 02.26.06 (5:52 pm) Reply to: lazypeon i think we do it to ourselves more than not. posted by: graceshaker (reply) post date: 02.26.06 (5:56 pm) Reply to: thoolou http://www.immortalia.com/sounds/records-and-cds/CDs/paul-newman/10%20-%20Plastic%20Jesus%20-%20Paul%20Newman.mp3 you love this song dont you?
