I found myself in a discussion recently with three very liberal Mennonite Pastors (at a bar no less). They kept taunting me with "why would God do this or that..." My response is that it is not my job to explain God. I simply have faith that He has reasons and ways that I do not understand and that is enough for me. Period. The psychology...the science...none of it matters. I am not trying to convert people to my way of thinking. If they ask me I will tell them but if they want to dig their heals in the sand and believe that it is all for nothing--then let them. To suppose that people of faith are unthinking and ignorant simply makes people who don't understand feel more confident that they are right. My question is why do they make so much effort to try and pry me from something that brings only hope? Somewhere they have been poisoned by the notion that religiousness and faith are the same thing. Stepping down off of my soap box now. I always appreciate you.
